With 30 percent of India already living in towns and cities, it is projected that in the next two decades, nearly half of India will be living in urban areas. India’s cities are already reeling from a severe resource and infrastructure crunch. A major challenge is developing India’s cities of the future, especially tier 2 and 3 cities, as alternate hubs for commercial activity and migration. At a young age of 29, Udit Mehrotra has carved a niche for himself in the telecom arena because of his deep understanding of the industry and various path-breaking innovations.
