Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi – 8th March, 2010: Ubico Networks joined the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as the Principal Sponsor of the International Conference on Competitive Cities on Monday, 8th March, 2010 in the Taj Mahal Hotel, Number One Mansingh Road, New Delhi 110 011, India. The theme of the Conference was “City Development: Emerging Business Models”, and was sponsored by the Infrastructure Subcommittee of CII Northern Region, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
With 30 percent of India already living in towns and cities, it is projected that in the next two decades, nearly half of India will be living in urban areas. India’s cities are already reeling from a severe resource and infrastructure crunch. A major challenge is developing India’s cities of the future, especially tier 2 and 3 cities, as alternate hubs for commercial activity and migration. Ubico’s high speed network infrastructure is positioned to be a major part of India’s new cities. Ubico offered a glimpse of the future at the International Conference on Competitive Cities at Ubico’s exhibit space near the registration area.
